Planning a Disneyland Paris Birthday should feel exciting, not overwhelming.

I’ve been lucky enough to celebrate two birthdays (as well as a few family birthdays) at Disneyland Paris, so I’ve learned about the most fun things to do on your birthday!
So, are you ready to celebrate at Europe’s most magical theme park?!
This post is all about the 14 best Disneyland Paris birthday ideas.
Disneyland Paris Birthday
1) Disney Character Meet-and-Greet
How to plan
- Check the Disneyland Paris app for character times and locations.
- Be aware that wait times can get high at times (try to meet characters at your hotel, if you’re staying at a Disneyland Paris hotel).

- Bring your own phone or camera as a backup to PhotoPass.
Personalization
- Wear themed outfits for the best photos!
- Have an autograph book ready and a bold marker.
- Make the character aware that it’s your birthday! (You could do this by wearing a Disneyland Paris birthday badge – find out more later in this post).
Add-ons
- Book a character dining meal if you don’t want to wait in line (there are character meals at 1) Plaza Gardens Restaurant for breakfast or dinner at Disneyland Park; 2) Auberge de Cendrillon for breakfast, lunch or dinner at Disneyland Park; 3) Royal Banquet for lunch or dinner at the Disneyland Hotel; or 4) La Table de Lumière for Disneyland Hotel guests only).
2) Special Disneyland Paris Hotel Stay
Staying at a Disney hotel allows you to be at Disney for your entire birthday – even when you’re sleeping!
If you like to stay in the Disney bubble, your birthday is the perfect time.
How to plan
- Book a hotel that fits your style and budget (from more budget-friendly options like Disney Hotel Cheyenne, all the way to the Disneyland Hotel).

- Plan your transportation at the parks (Disney Davy Crockett is the only on-site resort which DOES NOT have a free shuttle bus to the Disney Parks. It is also the only hotels which is not within walking distance of the parks).
Personalization
- Consider a hotel with a pool if you want a midday swim (On-site resorts with pools include the Disneyland Hotel; Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel; Disney Newport Bay; Disney Sequoia Lodge: Disney Davy Crockett Ranch).

- Pick a theme that matches your party, from nautical at Newport Bay to Marvel at Hotel New York – and more!
Add-ons
- Want to relax? Book spa time at the Disneyland Hotel Spa by Clarins.
- You could go to a breakfast buffet at your hotel.
- Or, you could book a table-service or buffet meal at your hotel.
- Don’t want to make reservations? If your hotel has a bar, you can always go for a drink or light snack.

3) Decorate your Disneyland Paris Hotel Room Door
Decorating your Disneyland Paris hotel room door is something my family does whenever we celebrate a birthday at Disney!

Think a cute door sign, flat bunting, and removable stickers with your favorite character/theme.
4) Themed Birthday Dining Experience
A table-service meal turns a normal park day into a proper celebration. Character dining is great for kids and grown-ups (as mentioned in #1 on this list). You could also book a buffet or standard sit-down meal.
How to plan
- Pick your restaurant and reserve on the Disneyland Paris site or app.
- Choose a time that avoids parade windows and peak rush.
- Confirm dietary needs and ask about cake options.
Add-ons
- Pair dinner with a nearby show or parade.
- Grab a specialty dessert in Disney Village after.
- You could book a birthday dessert – cake – at an additional cost. More on this below …
5) Birthday Cake Surprise At Your Meal
How to plan
- You can order this when you arrive at your Disneyland Paris hotel, the restaurant or even before you visit. If you’re ordering a gluten-free cake, make sure it’s at least 48 hours before your meal. For more info, check out this post.
6) Private VIP Tour for the Birthday Star
Overview
If the budget allows, a VIP tour is the most efficient birthday splurge. You get a tailored route, less waiting, and a calm pace. It turns a crowded day into a curated one.
How to plan
- Check pricing and availability with Disneyland Paris in advance. I haven’t personally taken a VIP tour, but I have seen that people have spent âŹ3,000 on the 6-hour tour. Disney doesn’t share the price on their site, so prices may vary depending on when you book a VIP tour.
- Set your top ride list and show preferences and share with Disney before your tour.
- Ask about birthday touches during your call or email.
7) Make a Personalized Disneyland Paris Ride Challenge

Have you already visited Disneyland Paris, and have a mental list of your favourites?
Or, if you haven’t visited before, do you have a list of rides you can’t wait to experience?
Write the list, and try to ride them all on your birthday!

8) Nighttime Shows
Overview
After dark, the park shines in a different way. The castle lighting, music, and projections make the day feel complete.
The current nighttime show at Disneyland Park is Disney Tales of Magic (since January 2025), but this is subject to change.
How to plan
- Check park hours and show times in the app.
- Pack layers and a power bank, especially if you’re planning on taking photos or videos.
Add-ons
- Get a great late-night snack!
9) Get your Free Birthday Button
Want an iconic and free birthday souvenir?
You can get a Disneyland Paris birthday badge!
Wondering where to get a birthday pin at Disneyland Paris? You can find these at:
- City Hall at Disneyland Park
- Guest Services at Walt Disney Studios Park (to be re-named Disney Adventure World)
- Disney On-Site Hotels
Please be aware that you will usually need to prove that your birthday was within 30 days of your visit, so make sure you have ID!
10) Seasonal Birthday Tie-Ins
Overview
If your birthday falls near Halloween or winter holidays, consider spending your birthday celebrating the season AND your birthday!
How to plan
- Check seasonal dates before you book.
- Aim for weekday visits during events.
- Plan Disneyland Paris birthday outfits based on weather.
Add-ons
- Collect a seasonal pin.
- Try one limited-time snack or meal.
- Schedule a holiday show or parade.

11) Explore the New Frozen Land
If your birthday falls after Spring 2026, you’re in luck! World of Frozen – the brand new land at Walt Disney Studios / Disney Adventure World – will be open.
You can spend the day enjoying the boat ride, Frozen Ever After, and exploring everything the new land has to offer!
(Disney has confirmed the new Frozen Land will open in Spring, but we don’t have an official date yet, though it is rumored to be March 22, 2026. Just don’t count on this being the opening date unless it is confirmed by Disney).

12) Multi-Day Birthday Itinerary
Stretching the celebration over more than one day can make it feel manageable.
Instead of squeezing all the rides, shows and experiences into one day, you can spread it out, and avoid feeling overwhelmed!
And if you’re staying on-site, consider spending time enjoying your hotel! Especially if you have facilities, like a swimming pool.
13) Go to Disney Village
Don’t want to buy Disneyland Paris tickets? Go to Disney Village instead – for free. Occasionally, it may not be if there’s an event (so be sure to check before you go).
But generally, you can shop, dine and explore on your own terms. It can be as cheap or expensive as you make it. It’s pretty nice – and sometimes, rare – to have that level of flexibility in price at Disney!
14) Go to a Disneyland Paris Annual Pass Party
Whilst this won’t apply to everyone, if you are an Annual Passholder, you may be lucky enough to have an Annual Pass party fall on your birthday.
These usually take place four times per year, and promise shorter wait times for rides, and exclusive entertainment and character meet-and-greets.
Tickets usually cost around âŹ59, and you can typically purchase a set number of tickets for non-pass holders.
