7 Significant Pros & 9 Major Cons of Disney Hotel Cheyenne Paris (should you even bother staying here?)

DISNEY HOTEL CHEYENNE PARIS

Disney Hotel Cheyenne Paris is a popular on-site Disneyland Paris hotel. But like any hotel, it isn’t without flaws.

I’ve stayed here a 3 times in the last 12 years (most recently in December 2025), and noticed some incredible and lackluster things about the Hotel Cheyenne Disney resort.

If you’re trying to decide if it’s the right for your Disneyland Paris hotel for your trip, here’s my honest, detailed breakdown of what works, what doesn’t, and what might surprise you once you’re actually there.

This post is all about 7 massive reasons why you should and 9 noteworthy reasons why you shouldn’t stay at Disney Hotel Cheyenne Paris.

What is & Where is the Disney Hotel Cheyenne?

Disney Hotel Cheyenne is one of the on-site Disney Hotels at Disneyland Paris, themed like a Wild West town (think saloon-style vibes and a heavy nod to Woody, Jessie and Bullseye from Toy Story).

Disney Hotel Cheyenne opened on April 12th, 1992 (designed by the infamous architect, Robert A. M. Stern – who also designed Disney Newport Bay Club at Disneyland Paris).

How far is Hotel Cheyenne from Disneyland Paris? What is the Disney Hotel Cheyenne location?

It’s in Marne-la-Vallée, east of Paris, and it’s close enough that you can walk to the Disneyland Paris gates in roughly 15 to 20 minutes (or hop on the free shuttle if your feet aren’t in the mood).

7 Reasons Why You Should Stay at Disney Hotel Cheyenne Paris

1) The “Wild West” / Toy Story theming is genuinely impressive

Despite being one of the cheapest on-site resorts, it has some of the most impressive theming (even since the Toy Story IP “tie in”).

It’s not subtle – without feeling like Disney tried too hard with this one.

As a guest here, you feel like you’re staying in a mini frontier town, with wooden facades, slightly muted colours (and an abundance of photo opportunities).

The lobby to the rooms (more on this later in this post) – the Old Western theming is extremely well-executed.

If you’re used to Walt Disney World Value Resort theming, Disney Hotel Cheyenne’s blows this out the water. Instead of massive statues everywhere, there are intricate details – something that can be appreciated by all ages.

Visiting at Halloween or Christmas? The resort is decorated appropriately to fit in with the year-round theming.

Why the theming is so positive at Disney Hotel Cheyenne

  • It adds extra “Disney magic” outside the Disneyland Paris parks.
  • The outdoor walkways and building signs make it feel like a real little town.
  • It’s a very photogenic on-site hotel.
  • There’s a relaxed feeling about this hotel, not stiff or formal.

2) Often reasonable Disney Hotel Cheyenne prices – Can be the best-value on-site hotel (without feeling like a downgrade)

Let’s talk about the economical upside of staying at Disney Hotel Cheyenne.

Although you still get the on-site perks and a themed stay, you’re not paying Deluxe prices.

Value highlights

  • On-site perks (like Extra Magic Time – an extra hour in the parks for on-site guests, before they officially open – and character meet-and-greets at your hotel etc.) without deluxe pricing.
  • Theming that feels intentional, not half-finished.
  • Easy logistics for guests, including families (shuttle, dining, shop).
  • Potentially a more consistent, predictable experience compared to off-site alternatives.

If you’re choosing a “value” hotel, and still want it to feel special, Cheyenne is an excellent option- helping the whole trip feel more special even when you’re not splurging.

3) It’s walkable to the parks (and that matters more than people admit)

Like every on-site resort (excluding Disney Davy Crockett Ranch), there is a free shuttle bus to and from the parks, from Disney Hotel Cheyenne.

But the coolest thing about this hotel? You can actually walk to the parks! Sure, it’s around a 10-15 minute ish walk each way (depending on pace and where your room is located). But if you have a little extra energy at the beginning or end of the day, it can be pretty liberating to walk. Instead of waiting in line for a potentially packed bus!

(That said, buses usually arrive every 12 ish minutes, so unless you’re trying to catch one at peak times, it shouldn’t be *too* busy).

Why the Location Works So Well

  1. You can walk when the shuttle is crowded.
  2. You don’t need a car.
  3. It’s even easier to pop back to the hotel for a rest if needed.

4) The Disney Hotel Cheyenne rooms are better than the “budget” label suggests

Disney Hotel Cheyenne reviews

Just because it’s one of the cheaper Disneyland Paris hotels, the rooms are not consequently bad.

When I stayed here in January 2017 (before the 2017 refurb had finished), the rooms were starting to look a little tired.

But the Toy Story refresh has happened, and the IP has been included in an impressive way.

Whether it’s the cowboy boot lamp or the curtain pattern representing Woody’s outfit. It’s hard to deny that the attention to detail has been pretty superb with these rooms.

Disney Hotel Cheyenne photos

Like a lot of on-site Disneyland Paris hotel rooms, they are not massive (the Cheyenne rooms being 226 square feet). But this room size very workable for most groups of up to 4.

Room Comfort Perks (I Observed During my 2025 Stay):

  • Beds feel solid enough for a real rest (I slept on the pull-out trundle bed and even that was surprisingly comfortable. Note some rooms have 2 double beds, whereas others have 1 double and 1 sofa bed. You will be able to see this when booking your stay).
  • Toy Story details make it ideal for kids or nostalgic adults. It brings a lot of character to the rooms!
  • It feels clean, even when the hotel’s busy.

Please note the Disney Hotel Cheyenne rooms are not without their fair share of flaws (mentioned further in the cons section of this blog post!).

5) Evening vibes are strong (bar, buffet, and a low-effort night plan)

Leaving the park at night without eating dinner?

No worries! There are on-site dining options at Disney Hotel Cheyenne.

They have a buffet restaurant (Chuck Wagon Café) and a bar (Red Garter Saloon), which gives you options when you’re tired and hungry!

It’s best to make reservations for the buffet ahead of time, but as it isn’t the most popular buffet at DLP, you have a chance of getting a table last-minute. If you don’t add the daily breakfast buffet to your booking before you arrive, you can usually pay for this for 1 or more days during your stay.

What I like about the setup

  • The bar area feels themed and relaxed.
  • It’s possible to grab a drink and simple meal.
  • You can keep the whole evening on-site.
  • The on-site Starbucks is often open 7 AM – 11 PM, so you can grab a drink/food throughout the day and evening!

6) The on-site Starbucks is a bigger deal than it sounds

I didn’t expect to care about this as much as I do, but honestly, the on-site Starbucks can be one of the better Cheyenne perks!

Surprisingly – and sadly! – most Disney hotels don’t have an on-site Starbucks location (side note: Disney Hotel Santa Fe also has a Starbucks).

It gives you a familiar, fast option for coffee, plus snacks and lighter bites that can be more affordable than a full sit-down breakfast/meal.

When mornings are chaotic, grabbing a quick bite to eat at Starbucks can be better than opting for the breakfast buffet. And yes, it will usually be substantially cheaper to go to Starbucks instead!

How much is breakfast at Disney Hotel Cheyenne Disneyland Paris?

Here are the one-off Disney Hotel Cheyenne breakfast prices at the Chuck Wagon CafĂŠ:

  • Adults – €25
  • Child – €20

Planning to head straight for roller coasters during Extra Magic Time, and want something lighter? The on-site Starbucks location usually opens at 7 AM and can be a better option for convenience and price.

Why the on-site Starbucks is so convenient:

  • Faster mornings when you want to rope-drop.
  • Easier budget control for breakfast/lunch and snacks.
  • Great for a late-afternoon pick-me-up.
  • You don’t have to go to Disney Village to get your Starbucks fix!
  • If you’re an Annual Passholder, you will get a discount here (I am a Silver Passholder, and got 10% off. Not a lot, but it adds up when you’re going at least once a day!).

7) You still get the on-site perks (Extra Magic Time is the headline)

The biggest reason I prefer to stay on-site at Disneyland Paris more often than not is all the perks.

Disney Hotel Cheyenne Paris includes the same core advantages that make Disneyland Paris hotels appealing, and Extra Magic Time is usually the one people care about most. That early entry can change the whole day, especially if you want shorter lines for the most popular rides.

On-site also tends to feel simpler. You’re not juggling long commutes, you’re not checking train schedules, and you can head back to your room for breaks throughout the park day.

On-site perks that actually matter

  • Earlier park access through Extra Magic Time (meaning more rides = less time!).
  • Easy return to the hotel for breaks.
  • A fully Disney atmosphere outside the parks.
  • Character meet-and-greets.
  • The ability to book packages, including Disneyland Paris tickets (this can be an economical way to visit for a lot of guests).

9 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Stay at DISNEY HOTEL CHEYENNE PARIS

1) It’s not “in one building,” and that can be annoying fast

If you’ve read any Disney Hotel Cheyenne reviews, you’ll know that Cheyenne is laid out like a little town. It looks great and feels immersive.

The downside is that it’s spread out.

If you get a room far from reception, dining, or the shuttle area, this can be frustrating, especially in bad weather or when you’re carrying bags.

For solo travelers, this layout can feel less convenient and feel less secure than hotels in fewer buildings, requiring less outdoor walking. (I have never stayed unsafe here, but I have also never stayed in Cheyenne alone. Some may find it unsettling to walk around the grounds alone at night. Each building has internal hallways, but you may have to walk for a few minutes outside to get there, and there may not always be lots of people around at night).

What makes the spread-out layout of Disney Hotel Cheyenne more challenging:

  • Potentially longer walks to reception and dining.
  • No “hotel tower” convenience.
  • Late-night returns can feel like a bit more of a trek.
  • Not as weather-proof as hotels made up of 1 or 2 buildings (think the Disneyland Hotel or Disney Newport Bay Club).

This said, you can pay a little more per night for a Woody’s Roundup Standard Room Near Hotel Facilities room to minimize some of this inconvenience. But that is a slightly less budget-friendly option, so it’s worth keeping all this in mind.

2) There’s no Disney Hotel Cheyenne swimming pool

No pool is the big missing feature at Disney Hotel Cheyenne Paris.

An on-site pool can offer an active yet relaxing break day to a Disneyland Paris day.

On my Disneyland Paris trips, I like to go for a swim before Extra Magic Time (highly recommend as a great way to energize yourself before a busy park day!).

But sadly, this was never added at Disney Hotel Cheyenne.

It may not be a dealbreaker for most guests, but just be aware that this is one of the things you’re losing out on at this Disneyland Paris hotel.

In fact, there are just 2 on-site Disneyland Paris hotels (Hotel Cheyenne & Hotel Santa Fe) without swimming pools.

Speaking of other Disneyland Paris hotels …

3) It’s sometimes not much cheaper than Disney Sequoia Lodge (a higher standard of hotel, despite also being another 3-star on-site option)

When Cheyenne is priced pretty low, it’s easy to justify.

When it’s only slightly cheaper than Sequoia Lodge (a frequent occurrence), I start questioning the decision.

That’s not because Cheyenne is bad (despite the cons, I’d always argue it’s one of the best on-site options). It’s because the trade-offs become sharper: such as no pool and a more spread-out layout.

What to weigh when prices are close between Disney Hotel Cheyenne & Disney Sequoia Lodge

  • Pool access (at Sequoia Lodge) VS no pool (at Hotel Cheyenne).
  • Lake area setting versus frontier town layout.
  • If you want to walk to the parks (Sequoia offers a slightly shorter walk)
  • How much time you’ll spend at the hotel.

Be aware that Disney Sequoia Lodge is undergoing a refurb in 2026, so you may not get the best experience of this hotel if you book a stay for the foreseeable future.

4) The rooms may not be amazingly sound-proofed

It’s not constant, and some room locations may be quieter than others.

But when I stayed here in 2025, we had adjoining rooms (the adjoining room occupied by strangers).

I was taking an afternoon nap, and when our “neighbors” arrived home, there wasn’t much we couldn’t hear!

This isn’t a problem I’ve noticed at other on-site hotels (including the Disneyland Hotel, Disney Sequoia Lodge and Disney Newport Bay Club).

If you’ve stayed at any on-site Disneyland Paris, please share below if you’ve had any issues with soundproofing in the rooms.

To be clear, this wasn’t such a massive problem that I wouldn’t stay at Hotel Cheyenne again. But it is worth knowing before committing to a stay here.

5) Disney Hotel Cheyenne Breakfast can be overly expensive for what it is

I’ve already discussed this, but unfortunately, it has to be mentioned in the cons section too.

The hotel buffet breakfast is convenient, but price is the sticking point.

If you’re the type of person who wants a full sit-down morning spread, you might be fine with it. I’m not. Once again, paying a premium for breakfast (€20 for children or €25 for adults, based on walk in prices) if you’d be happy with coffee and something small feels like a bad deal.

This is where the on-site Starbucks becomes a cheaper, more grab-and-go option.

6) The bathroom setup can feel a bit basic

I’m sure nobody’s expecting luxury marble and premium fittings from a 3-star hotel.

At first glance, the bathroom looks fine at Hotel Cheyenne. And it absolutely does the job.

But over the few nights I last stayed there, I noticed a couple of cons, including:

  • No rainfall shower head (making it more difficult to wash your hair!).

Disney Hotel Cheyenne VS Santa Fe

  • Lack of impressive toiletries (please could we have a separate shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. It may be a Value Resort, but you’re still paying Disney prices, and little things like this go a long way!). You may be left some miniatures in your room, but actually in your shower, you’ll find a combined shampoo/shower gel.

However, for a cheaper hotel, you can overlook a lot of these things.

You may want to bring your own toiletries (but if you’re saving hundreds – or thousands – by staying at Disney Hotel Cheyenne compared to other on-site options, this can be a fair trade!).

7) There’s not much resort-specific merchandise

This is actually a pro if you’re on a no-buy or low-buy during your Disneyland Paris visit. 😂

Although the small hotel gift shop sells a decent amount of Disneyland Paris merch you’ll find across the parks, Disney Village and other on-site hotels, they don’t tend to sell much/any merch exclusive to Hotel Cheyenne.

If you’re lucky they may have a Disney Hotel Cheyenne pin, but this was unavailable on my December 2025 stay.

If collecting Disney hotel merch is part of your tradition, this may not be possible at Disney Hotel Cheyenne.

You tend to see the most resort-specific merch at the 4 most expensive on-site hotels:

  • Disneyland Hotel
  • Disney Hotel New York- The Art of Marvel
  • Disney Newport Bay Club
  • Disney Sequoia Lodge

8) Character meets can mean long queues (and you’ll feel the time cost)

Cheyenne is popular with families, and that means character meets can draw crowds.

Meeting Woody or Jessie sounds adorable, and it certainly can be.

The problem is the line. If you’re on a tight schedule, waiting around in a hotel queue can feel like a time drain, especially when you’re trying to make park plans work.

Unless you stumble across a quieter time for meet-and-greets, this may not be the best use of time.

That said, it can still be a lower wait time than a lot of character meet-and-greets in the parks. So potentially even a time saver.

9) There’s no Club Level option, so paid upgrades are limited

Some Disney hotels offer a Club Level style upgrade that adds lounge access, snacks, and a more premium feel.

Disney Hotel Cheyenne Paris doesn’t.

What you see is mostly what you get, and while there are different room categories, you’re not going to “upgrade your way” into a quieter, more exclusive experience.

This can actually be a positive though because it removes the pressure to dine at the Club lounge (because you’ve paid for it ahead of time).

Instead you can enjoy dining at the Disneyland hotels, the parks or Disney Village.

Frequently Asked Questions Related to Disney Hotel Cheyenne Paris

Disney Hotel Cheyenne VS Santa Fe which is better?

If you’re choosing between Disney Hotel Cheyenne and Santa Fe, it usually comes down to budget, theming and amenities.

Disney’s Hotel Santa Fe is the more “basic” pick; it’s colorful, simple, and usually the cheaper option, but it can feel a bit basic once you’re back from the parks.

There is a lack of dedication to theming and anecdotally, I think it feels a little soulless compared to every other Disneyland Paris hotel.

Cheyenne, on the other hand, generally wins on theming and overall quality. The “cowboy town” is more immersive, the spaces tend to feel better finished. It also has a bar, which gives you another fun place to spend time after you’ve left the parks in the evening.

The catch? Cheyenne is almost consistently more expensive, so you’re paying for that extra atmosphere.

Want the best value and you’ll mostly sleep there anyway? Santa Fe.

Want the hotel to feel like a proper extension of the magic (and you don’t mind the higher price)? Cheyenne’s usually the better call.

Is Disney Hotel Cheyenne good?

Although I have pointed out the flaws of Hotel Cheyenne, I still think it is a very good hotel. In fact, it’s only been a month since I stayed there, and I’m already missing it!

It balances value and theming better than most on-site hotels, and can be appreciated by guests of all ages.

Ultimately, I believe that most people who stay at Disney Hotel Cheyenne won’t regret it!

Can you get a Disney Hotel Cheyenne & ticket package?

Yes, you can get a Disney Hotel Cheyenne & ticket package, and it’s often the easier and cheaper than booking these individually.

Disney sells bundle options that pair your room with park entry on the official site, and partners like MagicBreaks also offer packages that wrap the hotel stay and tickets together (sometimes with transport options, depending on what you pick – though they may be less economical).

I recommend pricing out Disney Hotel Cheyenne and park tickets separately and as a package, so you can get a good comparison of the price difference!

Can you walk from Hotel Cheyenne to Disneyland Paris?

Yes, as mentioned earlier in this post, it is possible to walk between Disney Hotel Cheyenne Paris and the parks (allowing around 15-20 minutes to do so).

Do you have to pay for Disney Hotel Cheyenne parking?

Staying at Disney Hotel Cheyenne and bringing a car with you? Good news! You will qualify for free parking at the Disney Hotel Cheyenne car park and at the parks.

Final Thoughts on Disney Hotel Cheyenne Paris

When the price is reasonable and you’re looking strong theming without paying top-tier hotel rates, Disney Hotel Cheyenne Paris is perfect!

However, if you want a pool, better sound-proofing, or a more compact “everything under one roof” setup, I’d recommend staying elsewhere.

Thanks for reading, and if you’ve stayed at Hotel Cheyenne, please share your thoughts in the comments 🙂
