Epic Universe Halloween – will it be a big deal this year?

As you may already know, Universal’s brand new park – Epic Universe – only just opened on May 22nd, 2025.

But if you’re like me – and you think the spooky season starts in August (thanks to Orlando theme parks), you’re probably wondering about the Epic Universe Orlando Halloween offerings.

I have planned my first visit for next month, and want to know if I can celebrate Halloween whilst I’m there. If you’re in a similar situation (or if you’ve already visited 100 times), today will cover will cover all things Halloween Epic Universe!

This post is all about Epic Universe Halloween 2025, and what Universal Orlando is doing to celebrate at their new park.

What will be at Universal Epic Universe during the Halloween season? & Has Universal confirmed the Halloween events Epic Universe will have?

So, let’s get beyond the Epic Universe rumors, and talk about what has – and hasn’t – been announced.

Sadly, no. For all we know, Epic Universe may have no Halloween events in 2025.

And as we’re having this discussion in July, it’s quite likely that there will be no party/”formal” Halloween event at Epic Universe.

After all, Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights tickets have been on sale since early June 2025. If there was an event at Epic Universe, wouldn’t we know by now?

Halloween Horror Nights is taking place at Universal Studios Florida on select nights from Friday, August 29th 2025 – Saturday, November 2nd 2025.

If the Halloween season starts at Universal Orlando in August, it makes you wonder: will Universal do anything for Halloween at all?

What Will Definitely Be at Epic Universe During the Halloween Season

Epic Universe Dark Universe – What is the Dark Universe at Epic Universe?

Dark Universe is one of the new lands at Epic Universe – centered around Universal’s Classic Monsters (like Frankenstein and Dracula).

So yeah, this is basically the perfect setting for Halloween.

Whether or not Universal will add any Halloween decorations or elements to this land is TBD. However, even if they don’t there’s plenty of Halloween-ish things to see and do here:

1) Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment

Height Requirement: 48 in (122cm) +

Whilst not official Epic Universe Halloween rides, Epic Universe is home to a couple creepy rides in Dark Universe.

The best known is Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment – which is essentially Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey – but with monsters!

Although it’s not considered to be as scary Halloween Horror Nights, it is one of the main dark rides at Epic Universe, making it perfect for the spooky season (unless you struggle with motion sickness).

(Side note: as someone who gets scared easily on dark rides, I will update this post with my thoughts when I have experienced it firsthand – just in case you’re like me 😂).

2) Curse of the Werewolf

Height Requirement: 40 in (102cm) + (children between 40in and 48in tall must have supervising companion)

Now not to be negative, but this is not considered to be the best ride at Epic Universe (if anything, I’ve heard it’s one of the worst).

It’s essentially a spinning roller coaster that’s over before you know it.

That said, it’s not trying to be as scary than Monsters Unchained, so it may be a better option for younger guests.

3) Meeting Universal Classic Monsters

4) Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience

Meeting monsters isn’t enough for you? Why not become a monster yourself?!

For a steep price, you can “experiment or transform” into one of the main Dark Universe characters, such as Frankenstein’s Monster, the Bride of Frankenstein, Dracula, The Wolf Man or others.

How expensive, you ask. Very.

$45 + tax for just face makeup (this gets you the Experiment Ticket)
$169 + tax for adults (ages 10+) or $109 + tax for children (ages 3-9) for a Transformation Ticket – including face makeup and accessories.

5) Dining at Dark Universe

There are three dining locations serving quick service food with a range of monster-themed snacks and meals:

Das Stakehaus – for more filling meals
De Lacey’s Cottage – for snacks.
The Burning Blade Tavern – some meals and snacks (like burgers, pretzels and drinks).

Frequently Asked Questions about Epic Universe Halloween

Are there special Halloween food and drinks at Epic Universe?

Whilst it’s not been officially confirmed by Universal, it would not be surprising to see some limited-edition Halloween-inspired snacks, drinks and even meals.

Should I expect large crowds at Epic Universe during the Halloween season?

Epic Universe is already seeing crowds and high wait times. If Epic Universe does anything to celebrate Halloween, chances aren they’ll just attract more people.

Even if Epic Universe does nothing special to celebrate Halloween, crowd levels may still be high during this season – just because a brand new premium theme park in Orlando is usually going to attract plenty of crowds.

Can I buy Halloween-themed merchandise at Epic Universe?

Universal hasn’t confirmed this, but it is likely that you’ll find some Halloween merchandise in at least some of their gift shops!

What is the theme of Halloween Horror Nights 2025?

There are 10 Haunted Houses at Halloween Horror Nights. Here are some of the themes in 2025:

The lack of solid info on Epic Universe Halloween 2025 could mean we get an amazing spooky surprise—or Universal Orlando is truly sitting this one out.

Either way, it’s fun to watch, wait and hope.
