13 Great Pros and 6 Disappointing Cons of Staying at the Disneyland Hotel Paris

DISNEYLAND HOTEL PARIS

Ever visited or seen photos of the Disneyland Hotel Paris, and dreamt of staying there?

disneyland hotel paris

For all of us who ever watched the Disneyland Park gates in the morning and thought, “I want to wake up right there,” you’re not alone!

For a lot of visitors (and, honestly, plenty of adults), Disneyland Hôtel Paris is the dream on-site hotel.

But it’s also the big splurge, consistently the most expensive of all Disneyland Paris hotels.

Particularly since the hotel reopened with a major Disneyland Hotel Paris 2024 refresh, and subsequently extremely high room rates.

I recently stayed here in December 2025, so you can decide if the splurge makes sense for your Disneyland Paris trip.

This is what you’ll want to know before any Disneyland Hotel reservations are made!

This post is all about the 13 pros and 6 cons of staying at the Disneyland Hotel Paris.

What is the Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Paris?

The Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Paris is the flagship, top-tier, 5-star hotel that sits right at the entrance to Disneyland Park. It’s literally above the main gate!

This is the iconic pale pink hotel you can’t miss. It’s also usually the most expensive place you can book on-site.

The Disneyland Hotel is built for guests who want maximum convenience and that classic Disney look, even if the price can feel a little wild for what you’re getting (I’ll speak more about it later in this post!).

Side note: despite the same name, the Disneyland Hotel Paris is wildly different from the Disneyland Hotel in California (which I learned after staying at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel in December 2024).

Biggest Pros – What are the perks of staying in the Disneyland Hotel Paris?

1) Best location (walk from your room to the park in minutes)

This is the one of the best perks of staying at the Disneyland Hotel!

Staying at the Disneyland Hotel Paris means you’re basically staying at the entrance to Disneyland Park. That changes everything about how your day feels.

The Disneyland Hotel Paris location is particularly ideal if:

  • You want to get the most of Extra Magic Time without having to allow time for transportation (more time to “recharge” before another park day is also beneficial!).
  • You want to take breaks during the day.
  • You’re taking a short Disneyland Paris trip and want to make the most of the time you have there!

2) Fresh, high-end feel after the refurb

When the Disneyland Hotel re-opened in early 2024 after its extensive refresh, the hotel had a newer, more polished vibe.

It feels more like a luxury stay, but with Disney IP elements (particularly with Disney Princesses).

If you’re the type who cares about the hotel being part of the trip (not just a place to crash), this matters.

A comfortable room with good soundproofing (something that isn’t always present at Disneyland Paris hotels – I’m looking at you Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne!) is perfect during an exhausting Disney holiday!

3) No park transportation required

As I mentioned that the hotel is located at the park entrance, there is no shuttle bus to the Disneyland Paris parks.

RELATED POST: What Are the Two Parks in Disneyland Paris? [in 2026]

That’s right: no shuttle schedules, no bus queues, no “did we miss it?”.

I can’t overstate how liberating it is to skip transport entirely!

When you’re traveling with kids, grandparents, or if you get tired (like most of us at Disney Parks!), cutting out transportation can keeps the day calmer.

Side note: every on-site Disneyland Paris hotel (excluding the Disney Davy Crockett Ranch resort) is within walking distance of the parks. But none are as close as the Disneyland Hotel, and also offer complimentary shuttle buses.

4) Perfect hotel for celebrations

If you’re celebrating a birthday, anniversary, first trip etc., this elaborate hotel can be a perfect fit.

The setting feels special and luxurious.

Even walking through the lobby can feel like part of a celebration with how STUNNING it is!

5) Stunning, spacious Disneyland Hotel rooms

Following the early 2020s, my, the rooms at the Disneyland Hotel are plush, elegant, and with small amounts of Disney IP thrown in.

disneyland hotel packages

Disneyland Paris hotel rooms can often be on the small side (particularly when compared to rooms at Walt Disney World). The Disneyland Hotel is a notable exception to this.

I stayed in a bogstandard Superior Room and even that “basic” room felt huge!

6) The “complimentary” things that come with your Disneyland Hotel stay

I always put “complimentary” in quotes because you already paid for it somewhere.

I mean, rates at Disneyland Hotel usually start at around £600, in lower seasons – like weekdays in January (so yeah, it’s never a cheap hotel).

RELATED POST: Cheapest Time of Year to Visit Disneyland Paris [don’t overspend in 2026]

Still, having the little basics included can make the stay feel smoother, and make the room rate feel slightly less extreme (keyword being “SLIGHTLY”).

Here’s a few of the additional “free gifts” / small comforts you can take with you like a souvenir:

  • The slippers they leave in your room (they’re not good quality though – both pairs we got broke within a week!). Please don’t take your robe though – you will get charged for that!
  • The food and drinks in your mini-fridge ON YOUR FIRST NIGHT ONLY (this is not included on any other night of your stay – even if you pay the same or more for other nights of your stay).

  • The pen & little notebook in your room

7) Disneyland Hotel has a swimming pool and spa

The gorgeous Disneyland Hotel pool is perfect for a swim before a park day, or a break during the day.

disneyland hotel photos

I was at their indoor pool for opening (7:00 AM) on our check-out day, and found this was ideal for peace – and actually being able to swim some lengths!

They also have a sizeable jacuzzi if you just need to relax.

A small but notable pro is the changing rooms! They are spotless and the showers come with Clarins hair products and shower gel. There are even Dyson hair dryers (though these are not available in the hotel rooms).

The Disneyland Hotel Paris spa element also leans into the hotel’s luxury angle, where you can book a treatment if you feel like splurging!

8) Charming boutique and resort-specific merch

This is arguably a pro AND a con …

This is a well-laid-out boutique with plenty of resort-specific merch, as well as some “generic” merch you’ll find in other park and hotel gift shops.

But visiting this boutique is not ideal if you’re on a no-buy or a low-buy!

9) Has on-site character dining options

Having character dining in the hotel is a real perk, especially when you want the photos and the interaction without spending a chunk of park time.

It’s also one of the easiest ways to make a trip feel “premium” fast. The flip side is the price, and I’ll get into that later, but purely as a convenience play, it’s hard to beat.

Character dining isn’t offered at most Disneyland Paris hotels, so it’s nice to have an option.

Alternatively, there are some character meals in the parks, which are also nearby if you’re staying at the Disneyland Hotel.

If you’re staying on-site you can also book a reservation on the Disneyland Paris app to meet a princess. This a “free” perk of being a guest here.

10) Can appeal to guests of all ages

The beauty of the Disneyland Hotel is that it can appeal to guests of all ages:

  • For kids, there’s the kids club, character meet-and-greet opportunities, for example.
  • For adults, there’s the spa, premium restaurants/bar and more (and of course, the character meet-and-greet opportunities!)

Some people think that it’s just for kids because it’s at Disney. Or just for adults because it’s a fancy, 5-star hotel!

But like with most Disney parks and hotels, there’s really something for every age demographic!

11) Great customer service (more consistently good than a lot of other on-site hotels)

When you pay flagship Disneyland Hotel prices, you expect customer service to pretty top-notch. And during my stay here, I met nothing but lovely cast memebers.

Help feels easier to get, and small issues tend to get handled faster than at more budget-friendly options.

Of course, I’ve met amazing cast members at other Disneyland Paris hotels (including those at much lower costs). However, the quality of customer service can be hit and miss at some of the other hotels.

Is the Disneyland Hotel perfect every time when it comes to customer service? Probably not. But this is one of the areas where the premium positioning showed during my recent stay.

12) Premium Disneyland Hotel Paris booking options: Disneyland Hotel Paris Suites and Castle Club

If you want the “I’m never going back to a normal hotel” version of this stay, the premium tiers are where it happens.

Suites give you more space and more wow factor.

Castle Club tends to appeal to people who like extra comforts and a more private feel.

As I stayed in the cheapest room category, I can’t recommend or dissuade anyone from booking these rooms/suites!

But if you’re looking to *really* splurge on a hotel stay, it’s good to know you have options. 😂

13) Extra Magic Time and on-site guest perks that make park days smoother

Extra Magic Time can be a useful advantage for on-site guests.

It’s not just about getting into the park early, it’s about stacking your morning so the rest of the day feels less frantic.

If you can knock out a couple of popular rides before the crowds peak, you may be able to take the rest of the day at a more reasonable pace.

And if you’re staying at the Disneyland Hotel, it’s easy to get to the parks in time for Extra Magic Time, as you have basically no commute. And you even have your own entrance to Disneyland Park!

Real cons to know before you book the Disneyland Hotel Paris

1) Incredible, but is it really worth the full price?

The cost is the main downside of this hotel.

Room rates are never truly low here, even if you skip the premium upgrades, dining, and any extras that add up quickly in a Disney bubble!

However, it can still feel worth it when:

  • You’re doing a short splurge stay (even 1 night can deliver the full feeling. We just stayed for one night but still felt like we got to fully experience the hotel. That said, if you’re planning to spend almost all your time at the parks, it may not be worth the price of staying at a nice hotel, if you won’t have time to enjoy the premium amenities).
  • It’s a special occasion and you want the hotel to be part of the memory. We stayed here on my Mum’s birthday trip, and it was one of the most exciting parts of the celebration.
  • You’ll actually use the location for breaks, naps, and easier days or evenings.

Staying at the Disneyland Hotel might not feel worth it when:

  • You’re barely in the room because you go open-to-close.
  • You’d rather spend on tickets / meals / merch than on a fancy hotel.
  • You need more space for a bigger group and don’t want suite pricing.

2) Rooms were not perfect, already showing signs of wear

Even after a big refresh, high-traffic hotels – like the Disneyland Hotel Paris – get scuffed fast.

In our room, there were odd areas showing “wear and tear”. This is certainly occurring sooner than you may expect for a top-tier Disney property.

Whilst you may generally expect this in hotel rooms, when you’re spending HUNDREDS or THOUSANDS per night to stay at a hotel like this, the maintenance of the rooms ought to be better.

The lobby is meticulously watched and repaired in areas by cast members. This attention to detail is impressive. But it would be even better if this also took place in the rooms, as much as possible.

3) Only expensive Disneyland Hotel Paris restaurants, food and reservations can be tricky (cost, value, planning)

If you like casual, quick hotel food, this is not the easiest place to wing it.

Dining leans upscale and priced accordingly, and reservations may be competitive at peak times.

My biggest gripe is value.

Even when the food is good, it can feel like you’re paying extra for the setting.

Here are the Disneyland Hotel Paris prices of meals at their 3 popular restaurants:

  • La Forêt Secrète par Jean Imbert – €140 for a 3-course Discovery Menu adult meal / €200 for a 5-course Tasting Menu meal / €70 for 3-course Children’s meal (Please note drinks are not included in the price for adults. However, a drink is included in the price of a children’s meal).
  • La Table de Lumière (character meal with princes’ and princesses’) – €120 for a 3-course adult The Royal Menu meal / €60 for 3-course child Lumiere’s Little Guests menu (a drink is included for children but not adults)
  • Royal Banquet (buffet with characters, such as Mickey and Minnie Mouse) – €100 for adults / €50 for children (both adults and children get 1 soft drink included)

Please note that guests usually have to be between the ages of 3 and 11 to qualify for children’s meals at the advertised prices.

Even though these are table service or buffet meals, the prices are ridiculous.

For reference, on our December 2025 Disneyland Paris trip, we booked two table-service restaurants. Here are the approximate prices for these meals:

  • Captain Jack’s – Restaurant des Pirates (Adventureland, Disneyland Park) – We just got entrées (the delicious Vegetable Colombo curry for €30. But if you want a 3-course meal, it costs €55 for the adults Pirate’s Treasure menu or €30 for a 3-course kids Moussaillon menu (one drink is included for kids but not adults).

disneyland hotel paris perk changes

  • Walt’s – an American restaurant (Main Street, U.S.A., Disneyland Park) – €55 for a 3-course adults meal from the Menu Walt’s / €30 for a 3-course children’s meal from the Steamboat Willie Menu (drinks are not included for adults, but one drink is included for kids).
Red Cabbage Duo – Adults’ Vegan Starter from Walt’s Restaurant

If you want some sit-down meals, you can find them at Disneyland Paris for around half the price – or less – than the meals at the Disneyland Hotel.

Because of this, it may be hard to justify booking one of the premium meals at Disneyland Paris (I sure know it is for me, hence why I’ve never dined at these restaurants!).

(That said, the alternative meals I have mentioned in Disneyland Park are NOT character meals, so that is part of the reason for the stark difference in price).

Even the breakfast buffet can feel expensive for what it is (€45 per adult or €36 per child if you don’t book beforehand), especially if you’re not a big breakfast eater or your kids live on croissants and vibes.

My family stayed here in the early 2000s (ironically when my Mum was pregnant with me, so it turns out this was my first stay at Disneyland Paris!), and the hotel breakfast was something else back then!

There were characters at breakfast! These days, it’s not much more than an average breakfast buffet at any Disneyland Paris hotel. Just more expensive.

Hence why we opted out of spending so much for breakfast, and pottered over to Main Street, U.S.A. for pastries and sweet treats instead!

A cheap-er place to eat at the Disneyland Hotel is Fleur de Lys Bar, with food/snacks costing between €8 – €35 (with only caviar costing €100!).

It’s important to note this place is still expensive; just less so than the other options at the Disneyland Hotel!

You can also find a selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at the Fleur de Lys Bar.

4) Only has one pool, no outdoor pool

If pools are a big part of your vacation, the setup here can feel limited.

Just one Disneyland Hotel Paris pool also means it can get busy at prime times.

Visiting during a warmer time of year? Sadly, there’s no outdoor pool.

When comparatively less expensive Disneyland hotels (like Disney Sequoia Lodge; Disney Newport Bay Club; and Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel).

This said, please note that outdoor pools may be closed depending on the season/weather conditions (so it may not always help with capacity!).

5) Underwhelming turndown service

I’d heard stories from my family of how when they stayed at the Disneyland Hotel in the early 2000s, the turndown service involved complimentary chocolate.

So I was well and truly prepared and looking forward to my chocolate that evening when I discovered that the turndown service had occurred in our hotel room … but no chocolate in sight!

Yes, the lights were dimmed and tea, cups and saucers were laid out … but no chocolate.

Like any Gen Z, I instantly googled to see if this was another cost-saving measure of Disney’s. But when reading Disneyland Hotel Paris reviews, the feedback was mixed. Some hot chocolate during the turndown service, while others, like us, didn’t.

You may be thinking, do you really need a square of chocolate to make you like the Disneyland Hotel Paris?!

No, but when the standard room that I stayed in cost over £800 for the night of our stay, is a small gesture like this is too much to ask?

At this price point, I expect small touches to feel polished.

Perhaps the worst part is the inconsistency of the turndown service. Either offer a superior turndown service … or don’t.

If you’ve stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, I’d love to hear your experience!

(I know this a petty complaint in comparison to the price of rooms, for example. But if you’re considering a stay at this insanely expensive Disneyland Paris hotel, you ought to be aware of the many pros and cons!).

6) There are other wonderful on-site resorts with similar perks for so much cheaper

This is the most practical argument against booking. Other on-site hotels can still give you Extra Magic Time and that “Disney bubble” feeling, for a lot less money.

Still want a “deluxe” feeling Disneyland Paris hotel for less?

Consider a stay at Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel or Disney Newport Bay Club.

And when Disney Sequoia Lodge is refurbished, this could be another great option.

RELATED POST: Disney Sequoia Lodge Paris: Honest Pros & Cons Before You Book This Disneyland Paris Hotel

In December 2025, we also spent 3 nights at Disneyland Paris Hotel Cheyenne – one of Disney’s cheapest on-site hotels.

Whilst it was certainly less luxurious, we absolutely loved it. From great theming to comfortable rooms (and even a Starbucks ☕️ on-site!), it was a great stay, also providing us with plenty of on-site perks – like Extra Magic Time and being within walking distance of the Disneyland Paris parks.

So the real question becomes: do you need the flagship location and vibe, or do you just want to stay on-site?

So, is the Disneyland Hotel Paris worth it for my trip?

Could be worth booking if you want a “once in a lifetime” stay and maximum convenience

So when can staying at this hotel makes the most sense?

I’d consider it a great fit for:

    • People visiting Disneyland Paris for the first time who want the classic, front-gate experience. no
    • Families or anyone who will want/need to take breaks and naps throughout the park day.
    • Couples celebrating or adults and wanting a more grown-up Disney vibe.
    • Anyone who wants the shortest walk possible and less daily friction.
    • Anyone planning to schedule plenty of time at the hotel, so you can enjoy those incredible, premium amenities!

As I experienced recently, even a 1-night stay can deliver that “we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel” feeling, especially if you plan to enjoy the hotel, not just sleep there.

May be worth skipping if your top goal is more park days for the money

If you’re trying to maximize time and minimize cost, you can often get a better overall trip by staying somewhere cheaper and adding:

  • More nights
  • More table-service or buffet meals
  • Extra souvenirs if you’re a collector
  • Or if you just don’t want to spend that much at Disneyland Paris!

I also think bigger groups often do better elsewhere unless you’re booking a suite. When you start needing multiple rooms, the flagship price multiplies fast.

Frequently Asked Questions about Disneyland Hotel Paris

Can Disneyland Hotel packages save you money on staying at the flagship hotel?

Sometimes, yes, when packages bundle tickets and hotel together in a way that works with your dates.

My advice: compare these options:

  • A package including Disneyland Paris tickets and hotel stay
  • Booking tickets and hotel separately

RELATED POST: 5 VERY IMPORTANT Tips You Should Know Before Buying Disneyland Paris Tickets Online Prior to Your Visit (this is so crucial!)

  • Purchasing a Disneyland Paris Annual Pass (particularly if visiting more than once within a 12-month period) and then booking a hotel (at select times, Annual Passholder hotel discounts may be available).

Is there a separate Disneyland Hotel park entrance?

Not a separate secret gate, but the hotel’s location is right at the front of Disneyland Park.

The “perk” is proximity, not a private entrance (though there is a line for guests staying at the Disneyland Hotel).

Is there a Disneyland Hotel parking fee?

Luckily, there is no hotel parking fee for hotel guests, as long as you have your MagicPass.

Can you get Disneyland Hotel Paris tickets to visit the hotel?

You don’t need a park ticket to step into a hotel area in general, but access rules can tighten during busy times.

If you don’t have a booking or dining reservation, you may not be able to freely wander in whenever you want.

The rules have regularly changed here, but recently, to enter this hotel you need to be staying at a Disneyland Paris on-site hotel.

Is it worth staying onsite at Disneyland Paris?

If you value convenience, early access perks, and being able to take breaks easily, yes.

If you can find a better, budget-friendly hotel and don’t mind commuting, off-site can be a less expensive option.

What is the best hotel for Disneyland Paris?

For pure convenience and “flagship” vibes, Disneyland Hotel Paris is the top pick.

For value, I’d look at other on-site hotels first, then decide what you’d do with the money you save.

Another “deluxe”-ish hotel I’d recommend (usually costing less than half the price of the Disneyland Hotel) is Disney Newport Bay Club.

For less expensive options, Disney Hotel Cheyenne and Disney Sequoia Lodge are perfect for great theming, and can be much better value for money.

Can you stay at the Hollywood Tower Hotel Disneyland Paris?

No. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is an attraction at Walt Disney Studios Park (to be re-named Disney Adventure World from March 29th, 2026). It’s not an operating hotel you can book.

But wouldn’t it be great if Disney built a Tower of Terror themed hotel at Disneyland Paris?!

Is 4 days at Disneyland Paris too much?

Not if you like slower mornings, mid-day breaks, and re-riding your favorite attractions.

Four days can be great for families who want less rushing, especially if you plan time at both parks.

If you’re visiting during busier times of year, 4 days may be ideal considering wait times are likely to be on the higher side.

What is the Disneyland Hotel aesthetic?

It’s a muted pink, royal, storybook style with a polished, upscale finish.

It’s a hotel that feels like a fairytale castle – very much designed as a luxury hotel setting.

Is Disneyland Hotel Paris Christmas good?

We stayed here in December, and I do not regret it!

The tree here and other Christmas decorations really are stunning.

disneyland hotel paris restaurants

And you can even see some of the decor from Disneyland Park from some parts of the hotel!

We stayed here on weekdays in mid-December, so avoided the large crowds and absolute peak pricing. Unless you have your heart set on staying here for actual Christmas, earlier in December may be the best time to visit – based on pricing and crowds.

Can you get the Disneyland hot chocolate at Disneyland Hotel Paris all year round?

Good news! You can find hot chocolate in the Hot Drinks section of the menu at the Fleur de Lys Bar at the Disneyland Hotel.

Can you pay for a Disneyland Hotel photoshoot?

Disney offers PhotoPass photographers in select areas around the parks and hotels, but they don’t currently offer photoshoots at the Disneyland Hotel.

Generally, PhotoPass photographers will only be present at select character meet-and-greets at the on-site hotels.

Final Thoughts on Disneyland Hotel Paris

Disneyland Hotel Paris is hard to beat on location and the refreshed look helps it deliver on that premium “promise”.

As we’ve established, the catch is the price, plus expensive dining and a few little details that may not feel perfect for what you pay.

Would I stay here again? Absolutely, but it’s hard to argue that it’s really worth the price you pay in a lot of cases. Especially when there are several amazing on-site Disneyland Hotels priced more “reasonably” (by Disney standards).

Staying here is an incredible experience, and I have no regrets. But don’t think you have to stay here to have a good time.

We enjoyed our time at Disney Hotel Cheyenne as much, despite the stark difference in amenities between these hotels!
